What is Club 316?
Club 316 is an after-school program where Bible based churches in our community come together to share the gospel and love on the elementary school age children in our local school system. It is a unique opportunity to be able to openly share the love and truth of Jesus Christ to kids in their school setting. The program consists of Worship, Meal, Bible Story, Memory verse, Missionary challenge and small group Prayer. The last few years First Christian Church has led and organized this program and has done a wonderful job, setting the standard high. City on a Hill Church is now taking the organizational side of continuing this program in the schools. Club 316 is not its own non-profit, but must be hosted by a local church.
City on a Hill Will Be Serving In September/October 2016:
WEDNESDAYS: Vienna- Finley Elementary School 3:00pm- 5:00 pm (Sept 28, Oct 5, 19,26)
In order to keep Club 316 alive and thriving in our schools we need volunteers to serve and implement the program. No one church has club316 staff to facilitate and run the program in every school, it takes multiple volunteers from every church to make the program run smoothly and effectively. Every school needs a minimum of 10-15 volunteers and some schools need up to 20 to make sure it runs smoothly.
What Do Volunteers Do?
- Sign kids in so they are all accounted for
- Help kids find their right group
- Lead worship ( have fun & help the kids have fun singing songs about Jesus!)
- Prepare/Distribute Meal
- Oversee a class (take them to their stations, maintain order, lead a small group prayer time)
- Teach a Bible Story (creatively, enthusiastically, & with application!)
- Share a kid Missionary Story ( let them hear how other kids around the world share Jesus!)
- Share a Memory verse (creatively give them ways to remember it!)
- Help check kids out and get them in the right car home
- Most importantly Love on kids and show and tell them about Jesus
What If I Cant Go To All The Schools! Can I Just Go To One? YES! In fact, if you will commit to one school to help then we will find volunteers to commit to the other schools.
What If I Can’t Serve At A School Because Of My Work Schedule, What Can I Do? You can give financially to cover the cost of the food we give kids, you can spread the word and be a voice to get other volunteers, and you can help call volunteers to remind them of their commitment to serve, you can donate kid Bibles we could give away to kids that don’t have any, you can ask your church to allow you to share about Club 316 and the need for more involvement, you can pray for kids to give their lives to Jesus when Club316 is happening! (…see how to donate at the bottom of this page)
Can Anyone Help Serve In The Schools? No. Before you can serve in any role in the school you must have a dcs background check and it come back clear. You must also sign a core value agreement that you will represent the values of what Club 316 represents.
What About My Church, How Can I Get It Involved? We really want churches to take part and ownership of sharing the gospel in our community. Churches can “adopt” a school and make that their focal point of serving in the school district. If Churches take responsibility for specific school then it will maximize our impact in that school and build relationships that can be fostered in our churches.
What if I Am A Teacher, Am I Needed? YES!!!!! In fact, in every school, Club316 runs smoother when the students recognize teachers that they respect serving. Often the presence of a teacher helps maintain order and reinforces the need for students. It is also an awesome way for you to be able to share your faith without compromising school policy.
How Will Food Be Prepared, Served And Paid For? City on a Hill Church is sponsoring Vienna-Finley Elementary School. Volunteers will be preparing meals each week for 100+ kids. To donate funds go to www.easytithe.com/coah and select Club 316 fund. If you would like to donate Bibles or food items they can be dropped off at City on a Hill Church at 4 S. Main St. Scottsburg
What about Bibles or other Gospel literature? Because of the volume of kids that Club316 will be ministering to, we would like to also raise funds to make Bibles available to kids that do not own one or have never had one. We would also like to put some type of gospel literature ( tract, gospel comic book, ect.) into the hands of every student that goes through Club316 to take home. In order to do this we must raise between $2000-$3000 additional funds to provide this for each child.
How Can I Give Financially? If you would like to Sponsor a Meal or Bible/Gospel literature for a child please go to www.easytithe.com/coah and select Club316 Fund to donate.
