City On A Hill Church was founded on Matthew 5:14-16, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
It is our passion to be a light in the midst of darkness. To Shine for the glory of Christ among those that do not know him. Our heart is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ locally and to the unevangelized around the globe through the local church. We are steadfast in our commission to raise disciple of Christ among every nation, tribe, tongue, and people.
Our vision is based on Isaiah 61: The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;…..

What to expect when you visit:
City on a Hill is not a “traditional” Church. Our pastor preaches in jeans (sometimes they have holes). How a person dresses doesn’t matter to us. We want people to be who they are, so just wear clothes- that’s all we expect. Our music is contemporary and sometimes loud. We love to worship God and we are not ashamed to lift our hands and get excited about it. We are a new church start and so sometimes things don’t flow perfect. We don’t get hung up on that. We aren’t trying to impress people, we are there to express our love to God and He already knows we aren’t perfect. We love the Word of God because that’s what got us out of the rut we were in. When our Pastor preaches he gives us an outline to follow so we can check out what He said later, if we want to investigate further. We are real, that’s our goal. Real people that need the gospel to deal with real issues in life. No church is perfect, so don’t be surprised to find out we are not either. City on a hill Church was started for people like you and me.
2013 City on a Hill Church received the “Good Neighbor” Award presented by Mayor William H. Graham of Scott County.
